One of stillness. Of effort. Of clarity.
I grew up in the presence of peaks — shaped by their rhythm, their challenge, their silence.
As a young man, I served with the Gebirgsjäger. We learned to move in snow, in storm, in solitude. To read the land as if it had a pulse.
Later, I returned — no longer in uniform, but still searching for the same thing:
A place beyond noise. A place that demands your full attention. A place where everything unnecessary falls away.
It’s not about conquering nature.
Active Mountain is not just a project.
It’s a return.
To the trail, the summit, the conversation between body and landscape.
I created activemountain.life as a home for these experiences — to share routes, reflections, photos, and ideas with others who feel the same pull toward the high places.
We hike. We ski. We bike.
But above all, we listen.
To the sound of boots on stone.
To the breath between two switchbacks.
To the hush of first light over the ridge.

The Ligurian Alps, Monte Saccarello, the forgotten paths above Poggio and Verdeggia — this is the world I now explore and document.
Sometimes with friends.
Sometimes alone.
Often with two Border Collies who, frankly, climb better than most humans.
This part of Crevia is for those who feel the same magnetic pull toward elevation.
Who know that joy often begins where the road ends.
Who see a line on a map and hear it whisper:
